<Cause>

An error occurred in the cutter sensor.
The cutter did not stop its forward and backward movements within the predefined
time period.
The cutter sensor (right) failed to detect the cutter within the predefined time period
when the power was turned on.

<Probable faulty component>

Cutter unit, mech. controller, system controller.

<Action>

1. Visual inspection:

Visually check the paper path and the cutter unit for abnormal conditions, such
as trapped foreign matter.

2. Cable check:

Replace the cable if the cable check between the mech. controller and the cutter
unit fails.

3. Replace the cutter unit.
4. Replace the mech. controller.
5. Replace the system controller.

: System controller: RTC (Real Time Clock) error

<Cause>

The DRAM check of the system controller detected abnormal conditions when the
power was turned on.
The data acquired were faulty when the RTC clock information was used in the
internal sequences.
