3.10.2 Construction of Manual Feed Unit

a) Components associated with the manual feed unit

Cut paper can be loaded on the manual feed unit a sheet at a time.
When both the manual set sensor and the manual paper end sensor detect that a
cut sheet has been loaded, the feed motor starts to feed it.

b) Components associated with cut sheet detection

The manual set sensor, a reflective photosensor, detects the cut sheet setting.
The manual paper end sensor, a reflective photosensor, detects whether there is a
cut sheet present.
The feeding state of the paper in the manual feed unit is monitored by the manual
feed sensor.
