Auger Tie Rod is too short
2. Adjusting the Length of the Auger
Fold Tie Rod
1. Turn the Upper Tube Stop Bolt in all the way.
This bolt is located on the hinge between the
upper and middle tube. See Fig. 30.
2. To adjust the length of the tie rod, the jam nut
will have to be loosened.
3. Once the jam nut is loose, simply rotate the tie
rod to either lengthen or shorten the tie rod as
required.
4. After the adjustment is made, the jam nut should
be re-tightened to keep the tie rod at the proper
length.
5. Once the auger is adjusted to close properly, it
may be required to adjust the auger transport
rests. Fold the auger into transport until the
auger is only slightly above the rests.
6. Loosen the nuts holding the auger transport rests
and align the rests with the auger tubes.
7. The rests can then be tightened down again.
8. Readjust the Upper Tube Stop Bolt so it is just
making contact with Middle Tube Hinge Plate.
