Section 4 - Service
4.1 Fluids and Lubricants
1. Grease - Use an SAE multipurpose high
temperature grease with extreme-pressure (EP)
rating. Also acceptable is an SAE multipurpose
lithium based grease. Use multipurpose SD
Polyurea grease on the PTO shaft.
2. Gearbox Oil - Use SAE 80W90 gear oil in the
gearbox for all working conditions.
3. Fan Bearing Box Oil - Use 75W90 Synthetic
gear oil for all working conditions.
4. Storing Lubricants - Your machine can operate
at top efficiency only if clean lubricants are used.
Use clean containers to handle all lubricants.
Store them in an area protected from dust,
moisture and other contaminants.
4.2 Lubrication
1. Use the Maintenance Checklist provided to
keep a record of all scheduled maintenance.
2. Use a hand held grease gun for all greasing.
3. Wipe fittings clean before greasing to avoid
injecting dirt and grit.
4. Repair and replace broken or missing fittings
immediately.
5. If fittings will not take grease, remove and clean
thoroughly. Also clean lubricant passageway.
Replace fitting if necessary.
