3.9 Operating Hints
1. Always allow an ample air supply into hoses
along with the grain. The holes in the MaxFlo
Full Bin Nozzle and the holes in the Cleanup
Shovel are there to provide air to convey the
product.
2. Keep the PTO shaft as straight as possible, with
the vac.
3. For maximum capacity, use the steel hoses as
much as possible and the rubber hose as little
as possible.
4. Try to minimize bends, loops, and lengths of
hoses to maximize capacity.
5. If conveying a long distance, use the rigid
aluminium tubes as much as possible.
6. When on top of a pile of grain, do not push the
nozzle into the pile next to your feet. The suction
will pull the nozzle and the operator down into
the pile. If the pile is deep enough, the operator
can be submerged under the grain and suffocate.
7.
Before Operation
-Open the bin lid to avoid damage to the bin.
The suction forces can collapse the bin roof.
-When unfolding the auger into operating
position, watch for overhead power lines or
objects the auger can strike. The auger travels
in an arc higher than the final height.
-Ensure the PTO shaft is properly seated on
the PTO output shaft on the tractor.
3.10 Soybean / Field Pea
Operation
In some situations during operation in soybeans or
field peas, the chaffer decks within the grain vac
body can become clogged with pods. To help reduce
this problem, move one chaffer deck higher into the
upper body for a more even distribution of air flow
across the chaffer. Proceed as follows:
1. Open body lid by releasing the two quick
clamps.
2. Lift out the upper chaffer and set aside.
3. Lift out the lower chaffer and store in a safe
place until required.
4. Remove the four hairpins that are in the plastic
manual holder.
5. Set the upper chaffer over the four pins that are
inside the lid so the pins stick through the holes
in the bottom of the side brackets welded to the
chaffer.
6. Reinstall the hairpins into the pins to hold the
chaffer in the new raised position.
7. Close up the body and secure in place with the
two quick clamps.
