GFCI Receptacles
The 305 Conquest has two (2) Ground Fault Circuit
Interrupters, (GFCI). One located in the head compart-
ment on the starboard lower cabinet wall. It is protected
from moisture by a water resistant cover. The other is
located on the forward port wall of the galley cabinet.
The GFCI will trip and quickly stop the flow of electric-
ity and prevent serious injury. The GFCI will NOT pro-
tect against circuit overloads, shocks or short circuits.
You can still be shocked if you come in contact with
bare wires. Power to the outlets is controlled by the
switch marked “OUTLETS” on the AC MDP.
To prevent severe shock or electrocution always turn
the power OFF at the Main Distribution Panel, (MDP)
before working with the wiring.
CAUTION
!
TESTING:
The GFCI outlet has a TEST and RESET button that
you can use to regularily test the outlet for proper op-
eration. Before testing the outlet, push the RESET but-
ton in. Plug an appliance into the outlet (such as a lamp)
and turn it on. Push the TEST button, the appliance should
shut OFF. If it does, the circuit was interrupted and it is
working properly. Push the RESET button to return the
power to the outlet. If the power to the appliance was
not interrupted, have a qualified marine electrician check
the system to find the problem.
