PTO speed

Check the spread chart for the recommended PTO speed 

(see figure 1)

. 

For Normal spreading the PTO speed is normally set to 540 rpm 

(see figure 2)

. 

This will differ in some cases, as the strength of the fertiliser grain affects the optimal PTO speed.

For Headland spreading, the PTO speed recommended in the spread chart, is the minimum category (EOS). 

Minimum category is the minimum quantity over the border. 

NOTE:

  It is possible to change the character of the headland spreading by increasing the PTO speed. 

By increasing the recommended PTO speed with 50 rpm it is possible to move the headland curve 

 

1-2 metres towards the border 

(see figure 3)

. 

 

For more detailed settings see page 67.

Start the PTO smooth and slow with the tractor idling.
Stop the PTO when changing the rotation direction.
