Proceed in the following way if these faults occur:
1. Turn off the line.
2. Slowly lift the defective belt without pulling out the motor's cable.
3. Rest the belt on the one at the side.
4. Increase the tension of the belt (or half-belt if it is the "V" type) as
required by alternately working on the two screws at the end of the
belt itself (see point 1 of
5. Turn first one screw and the other on each half-belt by 1/2 a turn each
time in the clockwise direction.
6. Between one adjustment and the next, fit the belt back in its housing,
power the machine and repeat the initial test with the weight to see
whether the adjustment is correct.
WARNING
Excessive belt tightening produces the opposite effect and
reduces their working life besides wearing the driving system
unnecessarily.
WARNING
If the tensioning screws are not regulated in a balanced way,
the belt will tend to shift to one side and could touch the side
structures and become worn. Allow the belt to turn for at
least one minute. If you note that it tends to shift sideways,
gradually increase the tension of the part towards which the
belt slips and repeat the test.
