Configuration Tips
The following are some important concepts to remember when
using the BCC.
•
When configuring objects in BCC, object behaviour and/or
statistics are modified immediately.
•
The save verb writes changes to the unit’s configuration files,
making them permanent. The changes made are already in
use.
•
reboot returns the unit to its last saved configuration. All
unsaved changes will be lost when reboot is used.
•
As you navigate between levels, the BCC prompt changes to
show your current location in the tree.
•
To move back one level towards the BCC context, type ctrl l
or pop (and a number from the history list if necessary).
•
To move directly back to the BCC prompt, type exit.
•
To quit the management interface (BCC), type exit at the
bcc> prompt.
•
If you exit
and re-enter the BCC without rebooting,
configuration changes that were made during the last BCC
session are still in effect.
•
To move directly to a configured object, type the whole
MTC. For example, to move into a PPP path called WAT1
from the bcc> prompt, you would type:
bcc> co pa ppp/wat1
•
To enter a configured object and amend an attribute, again
use one command line. For example, to move into the WAT1
path and add a second ISDN number, the following MTC
could be typed:
bcc> co pa ppp/wat1 isdn-n 2/01234567890
