Options:
ping [arguments] <ip address>
Function:
The ping command sends an ICMP echo request to a
target IP address. The command is used generally for
diagnostic purposes to confirm that a remote router can
be reached.
The arguments for this command are as follows:
-t
Ping forever until interupted.
-n <num>
Ping <num> times.
-l <num>
Ping with <num> bytes of data.
-i <num>
Ping with a time to live of <num>.
-w <num>
Ping with a timeout of <num>.
-d <num>
Ping with a time delay of <num>.
-c
Ping with compressible data.
-v no
display.
Example:
For example, to ping an IP address 10 times:
