When replacing batteries, the broadcast address of the RCU will be reset to its default value '0'.
CAUTION: Replace with the correct battery type. Use two AA size batteries. There is a risk of
explosion if the battery is replaced with an incorrect type.

2.3 Pulse RCU, protocol setup
Pulse Remote Control Units produced from April 2023 onwards will only support the NEC protocol.
There will no longer be a switch in the battery compartment to select the legacy RC5 protocol.
About the used protocol
The protocol is the code send out by the remote control when a button is pressed. Depending on this code, the
projector can decode the signals. The remote control can be used with two different protocols: RC5 and NEC.
Depending on the projector, the remote control can be switched between these protocols.
Which protocol to use
• The NEC protocol must be used for Barco projectors based on the Pulse platform: F70, F80, F90, HDX 4K,
UDX, UDM, XDL, F40, F400, etc.
• The RC5 protocol must be used with all legacy Barco projectors: HDQ 2k40, HDF, HDX W, etc. (legacy
products)
