Troubleshooting 6-3
www.baldormotion.com
When a node number between 1 and 15 is displayed, it is shown in hexadecimal format
(1 - F). For node numbers greater than 15, three horizontal bars are displayed. User defined
symbols can be made to appear using the keywords
LED
and
LEDDISPLAY
. See the Mint
help file for details of each keyword.
If the status display shows one of the digits 0 - 7 with a flashing decimal point during startup,
this indicates that the NextMove ESB-2 has detected a fault and cannot be started. In this
unlikely event, please contact Baldor technical support.

Symptom
Check
Cannot detect
NextMove ESB-2
Check that the NextMove ESB-2 is powered.
For serial connections, check that the serial cable is wired
correctly and properly connected. Check that no other
application on the PC is attempting to use the same serial
port.
For USB connections, check that the cable is properly
connected. Check the USB connector socket pins for
damage or sticking. Check that the USB device driver has
been installed; a “USB Motion Controller” device should be
listed in Windows Device Manager.
Cannot communicate with the
controller.
Verify that Mint WorkBench is loaded and that
NextMove ESB-2 is the currently selected controller.
