5.8 Brake control
ATTENTION
RISK OF SERIOUS FALLING AND ACCIDENTS
Malfunctioning brakes can lead to dangerous driving situation, falling or accidents.
Brake failure can be life-threatening.

Control the braking system carefully.
●
If you detect any defect do not use the Bicycle at all and contact a garage immediately.
NOTE:
During multiple-days journeys, brake pads can worn out quickly.
Plan your long journeys to receive the adequate assistance in specialised garages.
5.8.1 General functioning control
Check the braking system as follows:
1.
From halt position, pull both levers until full stop. The minimum
distance between the brake and the knob is 10 mm.
2.
Keeping both levers pulled, try to move your Bicycle.
Both wheel groups must remain still.
5.8.2 Hydraulic disc brake control
ATTENTION

Oil or grease on discs can reduce the braking action and lead to dangerous driving situation, falling or
accidents.

Dirty disc brakes must be cleaned immediately; see section 14.2.

Using your hands, pull the brake pad in all directions. The brake pad must not
move.
