5.3 Seat and seatpost control
ATTENTION
RISK OF SERIOUS FALLING AND ACCIDENTS
If the seatpost is not deeply inserted, it can dislodge from the seat tube while riding or it can cause
damage of that, leading to dangerous driving situation, falling or accidents.
Make sure that the seatpost is inserted at an adequate depth in the seat tube; refer to section 12.2.
To ensure an adequate depth inside the seat tube, observe the tube itself and identify the security notch on it. The
benchmark must be considered as an insertion limit beyond which the chassis or the tube itself may be damaged.
1.
Using your hands, try to rotate the seat and the seatpost. Both the
seat and the seatpost must remain in place.
2.
Using your hands, try to move the seat in its fixed point performing
up-and-down movements. The seat must not move.
3.
Adjust the seat at a comfortable height. Be sure that the security
notch on the seatpost is adequately inserted inside the seat tube
(chassis) or, at least, until its disappearance.
