
Chapter 5: Basic operation
This section explains three basic operations of the handset.
• Turning the handset on/off
• Locking and unlocking the keypad
• Entering a number in idle
Turning the handset on or off
Procedure
Press and hold the
On-hook
key
.
The handset displays “Searching” for a short while until a signal is detected. After the handset is
on, then is shows the registration number, and the display lights up followed by a confirmation
message.
Note:
The handset returns to idle mode when the
On-hook
key
is pressed.
Locking and unlocking the keypad
About this task
To prevent accidentally pressing keys and making a call, you can lock the keypad when not used.
Procedure
1.
To lock the keypad in idle mode, press the
key until you see the “Press and hold”
message on the screen.
The
Key Lock
icon will appear in the status bar when the keypad is locked .
