7.16.3 cleaning or Replacing Felt Dust Filter
The air compressor and vacuum pumps use a similar muffler/
filter. To clean or replace, unscrew the black plastic outer cap
from the housing. Pull off filter. It can be cleaned with water and
mild soap if necessary and allowed to dry before replacing. If
the filter is damaged or torn replace with a new one.
7.17 Vacuum System
7.17.1 Remove Amalgam Separator
Tools Needed: Wire Cutters or Scissors, Flathead
Screwdriver
1. Turn off power to unit. Move Suction tube and electrical
cord out of the way of back panel. (Fig. 1)
2. Open back panel of unit using a flathead screwdriver,
there are two quick turn screws on the back of unit. (Fig.2)
3. Using flathead screwdriver loosen hose clamp screw
where tubing attaches to Suction connector on separator,
then pull tubing off the connector. (Fig. 3)
4. Repeat Step 3, on the Vacuum connector on separator.
5. Locate purge pump connector. (Fig. 4) There will be
a small plastic ring on the inside of the connector that
needs to be pressed in using a flathead screwdriver to
disconnect. (Fig.5)
6. Loosen Velcro straps around the amalgam separator
(Fig. 6)
7. Locate wires on top of separator and follow to find all of
the zip ties that hold the wires together, then clip the zip
ties. (Fig.7)
8. Locate white wire on the top of the separator and follow
it to the relay. Using a flathead screwdriver loosen the
screw (location 3/A1) to release wire. (Fig.8)
9. Locate other white wire on the top of the separator
and follow it to the terminal block (location 6). Using a
flathead screwdriver loosen the screw to release wire
(Fig.9)
10. Remove Amalgam Separator from cart. (Fig.10)
