7.8.2 Re-assembly of the low pressure input side
1. Place new piston cup on rod (facing up).
2. Install the retainer plate and new screws, torque to 34-38 in lbs.
3. Install the cylinders over the piston cup.
4. Clean valve plates and install the valves and valve retainers in their original position (as noted earlier on disassembly),
use the new screw in kit and torque to 11-13 in lbs.
5. Install new tube O-ring and install tube to valve plate.
6. Install the new cylinder O-ring in the bottom of the valve plate and position over the cylinder; make sure they are
aligned.
7. Make sure the port orientation is correct (as noted earlier and marked).
8. Place the head O-ring in the O-ring groove on top of the valve plate.
9. Place the head covers over the valve plate and check for correct port orientation. Then torque head bolts to
34-38in lbs.
7.8.3 Replacement of high pressure (outlet side) of compressor-Disassembly
1. Remove the valve plate from the tube and filter. (Do not remove the tube from the filter).
2. Remove the eight head cover screws, the cover and O-ring, note orientation for reassembly of the valves limiter and
retainer (mark if necessary).
3. Remove the O-ring and cylinder; be sure to keep the same number and location of all shims.
4. Remove the retainer screws, retainer plate and piston cup.
5. Discard the old cup, cylinder, retainer screws, cylinder O-ring, head O-ring, valves and retainers (these will be replaced
by new parts in kit).
7.8.4 Re-assembly of parts for the high pressure outlet side
1. Place the new piston cup on the rod (cup face up) and reinstall the retainer plate, use the new retainer screws provided
in kit and torque to 34-38 in lbs.
2. Carefully place the cylinder over the piston cup and align the screw holes, install the cylinder O-ring.
3. Clean valve plate; be careful not to damage valve vent area. Replace the valves and valve limiter making sure notched
or “X” marked side is up and the valves are in their original position (as marked or noted earlier). Install new valve
screw and torque to 14-15 in lbs.
4. Install new O-rings on the tube and install into valve plate. Make sure the orientation of the ports are correct as noted
and marked earlier, place the head O-ring in the groove of the valve plate.
5. Place the head cover over the valve plate and torque the four outside screws to 34-38 in lbs, the four inside screws to
100 in lbs.
7.8.5 Test Unit
Reconnect to Power source and turn on the compressor. Verify that the system is operating correctly.
