Call Routing
To set up a connection from the PBX or public network to an IP subscriber, an
internal phone number (or, from the outside, the allocated DDI number) is dialled.
The PBX recognizes by the number that the destination is an IP subscriber and
routes the call on to the IP Gateway. The IP Gateway converts the phone number
into an IP address and the call is routed in the LAN to the IP subscriber.
IP subscribers can also call one another by dialling internal phone numbers. The IP
Gateway converts the internal phone numbers into IP addresses even if the call
does not originate from the PBX or is not intended for the PBX.
Caller Identification
CLIP and CNIP (name or subscriber number display) are correctly converted and
forwarded via the IP Gateway AIP 6400
.
