Cushions will inflate to a preset air pressure based on the patient’s height and weight.
Patient Transfer to TriaDyne Proventa Critical Care Therapy System
1.
Press
Instaflate™
button to fill cushions and create a firm surface for patient transfer.
Five beeps will sound when the Instaflate function is activated, and will sound every 20 minutes until
it is cancelled.
2.
Adjust height of patient surface to same level as surface from which patient is being transferred.
3.
Ensure brakes on both surfaces are locked.
4.
Lower side rails.
5.
Transfer patient, following all applicable safety rules and institution protocols.
6.
Press
Cancel
button to turn off
Instaflate
function and return cushions to previous air settings.
Pulsation will be restored automatically.
7.
Position patient on mattress and adjust positioning packs:
• Position head on head support pack and top of
shoulders between second and third cushion.
Each cushion has two inflatable segments, as
shown at right.
The cushions in the head section do not pulsate.
• Position arms in arm packs.
• Secure strap across cushions, as shown at right.
If arm packs are used, maintain a one-inch (25 mm)
clearance (approximately two fingers’ width) between end
of the arm pack and the axilla, as shown at right.
Never place arm packs snugly against patient’s axilla. Undue
pressure on axilla may result in nerve damage.
• Position head end of leg abductor pack at or just below
the knees.
• Extend legs and abduct with pack.
