3.5.  CRANKCASE AND CRANKSHAFT 

3.5.1. 

REMOVING THE STARTER MOTOR 

• 

First remove transmission cover, driving pulley, driven 
pulley and belt, rear wheel hub cover, gears, bearings 
and oil seals. 

• 

Remove the oil sump, the by-pass, the chain compart-
ment cover and the oil pump. 

• 

Remove the flywheel cover with water pump, the fly-
wheel and stator. 

• 

Remove the oil filter and the oil pressure switch. 

• 

Remove the head-piston-cylinder assembly. 

• 

Remove the two fasteners and the starter motor.
