6.5. Conversion to LPG
This conversion is strictly forbidden in Countries such as
Belgium, where double category for gas is not allowed.
This Kit is not supplied in Countries where conversion is not
allowed.
The conversion to another type of gas shall be carried out ex-
clusively by an APEN GROUP certified Service Centre.
The unit is supplied to use natural gas. The kit for converting it
into LPG is supplied as a standard and consists of:
• One calibrated diaphragm
• One sticker "Appliance converted to.."
To convert the unit, do the following:
• Disconnect the unit from power supply
• Replace installed gas diaphragm with the one supplied
as spare part
• Power on the boiler and get it ready to start
• While the starting electrode sparkles, check that no gas
leaks exist
While the burner works at maximum output:
1. Check that inlet pressure of the valve matches the one
required for the gas used
2. Execute combustion analysis as described in paragraph
6.4
3. Check that CO
2
value does not exceed the values corre-
sponding to the used gas. Should the value be different,
change it by turning the regulation screw: screw to decrease
the value and unscrew to increase it.
4. Make sure no leaks exist on the connection between the
gas valve and the venturi. Once the conversion and the
setting have been made, replace the label "Appliance set
for Natural Gas" with the one "Appliance converted to…",
enclosed in the kit.
REMARK: The boiler supplied for using LPG is adjusted for
G31 gas [propane].
In order to use G30 (butane), the CO
2
value must be checked
and adjusted according to table 6.2, if necessary.
6.6. Replacing the Gas Valve and Setting the Offset
If the gas valve is to be replaced, the CO
2
content must be checked and adjusted, if necessary, regulating the offset.
See paragraph 6.4 and table 2 for adjustment procedure.
