Parameter Menu
Through Par submenu you can access "b" and "d” parameters:
from b1 to b15 burner parameters
from d0 to d9 settings for boiler operation.
Meaning and default values of each parameter are listed in
parameter table. In addition to “b” and “d” parameters, the fol-
lowing parameters can be changed:
S1 Enables modulation sensor
SP1 Hysteresis of ST1 (only if the sensor is used ad
temperature limit
tH1 Maximum temperature of modulation sensor
It turns the burner off independently from other settings
S2 Not used.
P2 Not used.
S5 Enables pressure control of hydraulic circuit
P5 Hysteresis on ST5 value, water pressure.
S6
Enables control on water flow
P6 Hysteresis on ST6 value, water flow.
H11 Enables electronic control on circulator speed
H41 Hysteresis on flue control.
I/O Menu
In I/O menu you can view values detected by sensors.
NTC1 Temperature of delivery water
NTC2 Not used (displays -10)
NTC3 Flue temperature
An1 Input 0/10V - If used
PrH Water pressure in circuit
FLH Water flow in circuit (multiply by 10)

Number of revolutions of the fan
Pu2 % value on circulator outlet (only if electronic)

IOn Measures ionization current from 0/100 for currents
from 0 to 2 microamperes, 100 over 2 microamperes
Flt Menu
It displays error history. Use arrow keys to scroll list and press
ENTER
to display historical value of selected error.
The first value rst resets error history. Do not use this parameter.
It is reserved to Service Staff. To reset, change the value to 1
and press ENTER for 3 seconds.
After reset,
rst
returns to 0.
The list and the meaning of errors is shown on FAULT table.
Flue temperature control
This function regulates flue temperature during flame modulation
phase so that it never exceeds the set range.
D5=1 to enable. If NTC3 sensor is not installed, the board is-
sues F43 error. If d5=0, the board issue configuration error F99.
6.9. Maintaining the Exchanger
Precautions
Heat exchanger of AKY boilers should be used in the following
conditions:
• The fuel used shall comply with European standards as to
sulphur content, i.e. maximum peak for short periods, 150
mg/m
3
, year average lower than 30 mg/m
3
;
• Combustion air shall not contain chlorine, ammonia, or alkalis.
Do not install the boiler near swimming pools or laundries.
• Water PH shall not exceed the following range: 8.2 < PH
< 9.5. If the heating system includes aluminum components,
PH shall be less than 8.5.
• Water hardness (TA) shall range from 5°F to 15°F.
• Carefully vent all the air in the system during first start-up,
then close vent valves.
• Use corrosion inhibitors to prevent steel oxidation of the steel
exchanger. Antifreeze fluid recommended by Apen Group,
FERNOX11, is also an inhibitor.
Maintenance
Though the experience shows that annual maintenance of the
exchanger in not required, safety rules require that the following
checks are carried out each year:
• Combustion chamber Suck deposits in combustion cham-
ber, if any. If suction is not enough, the tubes shall have
to be brushed. Do not use sharp objects, acid substances
nor alkalis.
• Insulation Inspect each year combustion chamber insu-
lation. Replace it if depredated. Degradation is due to
condensate stagnation in the exchanger. Therefore, check
also condensate drain system.
Checks
The following components shall be checked during annual
maintenance:
• Gasket for burner flange
Replace gaskets if they look damaged.
Silicone gasket of burner flange shall be necessarily re-
placed every two years.
Burner
No maintenance is required. If burner surface looks damaged,
replace the burner.
Electrodes
Check position, good state of ceramics, and that no alumina oxide
exists. If the electrode is damaged, replace it and relevant seal.
