MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS
General:
Tretight
®
is designed for use under harsh operating
conditions with a minimum of maintenance. However,
the product can be damaged if handled carelessly or
improperly and in such cases it is important to repair
the damage as soon as possible to prevent it from
becoming worse.
Periodic maintenance:
The following maintenance must be performed every
time the seal is repaired or at least once every twelve
months. Under extremely harsh operating conditions
such as long periods of low/high temperatures or
frequent exposure to strong wind, especially if the air
contains a lot of sand/dust, the time between
maintenance should be shortened to six months.
Equipment:
Scaffolding that allows good access and comfortable
working. Standard hand tools, work gloves.
Step-by-step procedure:
1. Ensure that stable scaffolding fitted with the
necessary safety devices is available. Ensure that
the tools required for all steps in the maintenance
work are available.
2. Repair any faults, especially if the ropes and pulleys
are malfunctioning, if the cushions have come loose
from their C-sections or if the cushions or
attachment arrangements are damaged.
3. Inflate the seal and check that it functions correctly,
that there are no abnormal sounds and that the
noise level from the fan is not abnormally high.
4. Check that all screws are fitted and tightened as
described in the installation instructions. Re-tighten
any loose screws.
5. Check that the grille which protects the fan’s air-
intake is securely in place.
6. Check that the roller bar and counterweight operate
correctly during inflation and also after the fan has
been turned off. Check that the rope to the
counterweight is not worn. If necessary, replace the
rope. Check that the roof-cushion is properly
attached to the roller.
7. Check that the side-cushions are properly attached
to the roof-cushion, and that the roof-cushion is
correctly connected to the fan via the PVC tube.
The seal will not function properly unless air can
pass unobstructed from the roof-cushion to the
side-cushions.
8. See also the separate instructions for the fan.
