4. PROGRAMMING BY COMPUTER
This section describes the purpose and main features of the Voice mail Utility
Program (VUP) and details the installation process.
The VUP enables you to:

Define PBX parameters
x
Set the MiniSOHO clock and calendar
x
Create and maintain mailboxes
x
Build Automated Attendant menus
x
Review traffic statistics
x
Print system parameters and statistics
Programming the MiniSOHO via the PC is done offline until sent in one block to
the MiniSOHO.. We recommend that you save the new configuration in a file.
Using the VUP, you can also:
x
Open a configuration file to make changes and then to upload them to the
MiniSOHO
x
Open the default configuration file
x
View MiniSOHO statistics, e.g., line and memory utilization
4.1 Connecting The MiniSOHO To The Computer

To connect your computer to the MiniSOHO:
1. Remove the side panel cover of the MiniSOHO.
2. Remove any cable attached to the MiniSOHO’s RS-232 connector.
3. Connect one end of the RS-232 cable to one of the unused serial ports of your
PC and the other end to the MiniSOHO’s RS-232 connector as shown in figure
4-1.
