APPENDIX B: ELECTRICAL AND DATA CONNECTIONS
CD-A DUAL PULSE RESISTANCE WELDING POWER SUPPLY
990-430
B-3
Signal Definitions (continued)
PIN
DESCRIPTION
12
Binary schedule select bit 16
Schedule 16 can be selected by activating this input for 50ms. Must be held
active to combine other schedule inputs.
13
Dual weldhead input
Dual head function is enabled as long as this input is held active
14
Weld ready relay output
Relay closure to relay common when unit is ready to fire
NOTE:
The relay closure, may at times, extend for up to 30 milliseconds
after the weld pulse has occurred.
15
Counter exceeds limit relay
output
Relay closure to Relay common when Counter limit is exceeded. Can only
be cleared by decreasing the counter limit to “0”, by increasing the counter
limit beyond the count or resetting the counter.
16
Weld out of limits relay
Relay closure to Relay common when Weld limit exceeded. Will reset
when weld is within limits. If Monitoring this relay be sure to delay the
reading of the status until weld end has occurred. This is to ensure that the
prior weld does not cause an out of limit error of a good weld. It is also
possible to Reset the relay using the Fault Relay input (Pin 26)
17, 18
Not used
19
+24VDC
The total current draw from pins 1 and 19 must not exceed 500mA
20
Ground
21, 22
Not used
23
FS2 (Foot switch level 2)
Input must be held active for at least 50ms
24
FSI, FS2, Fire Common
I/O common for FS1, FS2, FSW inputs
25
Not used
26
Fault reset input
When activated for 50ms, will reset any I/O relay fault (Except Counter).
Must be activated for an additional 250ms to clear the front panel error
message.
27
Schedule lock input
Schedule change is disabled as long as this input is active
28
I/O Common
I/O common for non FS1, FS2, FSW inputs
29
Binary schedule select bit 2
Schedule 2 can be selected by activating this input for 50ms. Must be held
active to combine other schedule inputs.
30
Binary schedule select bit 8
Schedule 8 can be selected by activating this input for 50ms. Must be held
active to combine other schedule inputs.
31
Binary schedule select bit 32
Schedule 32 can be selected by activating this input for 50ms. Must be held
active to combine other schedule inputs.
32
I/O common
33
Weld end relay output
Relay closure to Relay common when Weld has been completed
34
Alarm relay output
Relay closure to Relay common if an E-STOP, Over temperature, or Over
current condition occurs.
35
Not used
36
Relay common
