W-CDMA Uplink Digital Modulation for Receiver Test
Generating a Single PRACH Signal
Generating a Single PRACH Signal
Using the single PRACH mode may turn the ESG ALC feature off. For reliable results, you may need to
perform a power search. Refer to
“Special Power Control Considerations When Using DPCCH/DPDCH in
Compressed Mode or PRACH” on page 570
before completing this procedure.
The ESG is capable of transmitting a PRACH using the factory default channel parameters. This aspect of
the ESG is demonstrated in the following procedures.
Configuring the RF Output
1. Preset the ESG.
2. Set the carrier frequency to 1.95 GHz.
3. Set the carrier power to
−
10 dBm.
4. Turn on the RF output.
Selecting the PRACH and Single PRACH Modes
1. Press
Mode
>

.
This sets up an output trigger signal at the EVENT 1 rear panel connector. Refer to
Panel Output Signals” on page 545
for more information.

Signal
column that corresponds to
Event1
under the
Rear Panel
Ports
Column.
3. Press
