Manual Setups
In addition to the Setup Wizard, the Help key has Help text on the
following subjects: Menu Operation, The Cable, The Test Leads and Key
Functions. To enter any of these subjects be sure no Function Key is active (no
LEDs lit) and no menu open. Then press the Help key, select the subject using
the cursor and press the
►
key to read the information.
The Help key also provides context sensitive help for:
1. The menu item pointed to by the menu cursor.
2. sub-menus selected
3. when in selected operations like “Sample a Cable”
4. Any active action key – as denoted by the keypad LED.
Press the Help key whenever assistance or more detailed information is required
with making selections or using the action keys.
Use this menu to select the backlight intensity, contrast level, turn
on/off keypad beep, or to make settings in the BATTERY MENU or DATE/TIME
menu.
BACKLIGHT
The Backlight feature has four settings: OFF, LOW, MID, and HIGH. Use the

keys to adjust the backlight intensity or turn the backlight off. When on, the
backlight will reduce operating battery hours by 6-10% depending on intensity
setting.
CONTRAST
The Contrast will need adjustment depending on temperature of the LCD. Its
temperature is affected by the environment, direct sunlight, TDR’s operating
temperature which will climb with operation time. Use the

keys to change the
contrast as required. Range is 1-15. Lower numbers will give a clearer display
when LCD is warmer and higher numbers a clearer display when LCD is cold.

KEYPAD BEEP
The Keypad Beep feature provides an audio feedback that a key was pressed.
Use the

keys to turn the beep on or off as desired.
