4.11 Removing On-line Drives
The remove on-line drive function decreases the number of active drives in the ArrayMasStor. In
RAID Level 5, the minimum number of drives is three.
IMPORTANT !
Removing an on-line drive unit will start the data initialization
process. This will erase all of data on the ArrayMasStor. It is
strongly recommended that data be backed up before removing unit.
If one on-line drive is removed, the ArrayMasStor goes to degraded
mode.
If two on-line drives are removed, the ArrayMasStor goes to system
halt.
When the buzzer mode is switched on, the buzzer beeps and STOP
BUZZER appears on the display.
Press the select button to turn the buzzer off.
Press the select button to initialize the ArrayMasStor. This will
erase the data stored on the ArrayMasStor.
A password is necessary to start the initialization. For instruction on
how to enter the password, refer to section 4.9.1, Entering the
Password.
Press the select button to confirm. Pressing the cancel button returns
the display to the previous menu without starting the initialization.
The new configuration will take effect when the ArrayMasStor is
restarted.
