Adding Unit as New LUN
When a new drive is assigned as a new LUN, the original data are reassigned to suitable locations, and
the new parity data (in RAID Level 5) are regenerated using dynamic data reallocation. There is no
need to backup data to increase the capacity of the ArrayMasStor, but backing-up is strongly
recommended to prevent the loss of data that may occur during dynamic data reallocation. The host
computer cannot access the ArrayMasStor while dynamic data reallocation is in process.
This menu appears when a drive is added into the ArrayMasStor.
Press the select button to continue.
A password is necessary to change the ArrayMasStor’s configuration.
For instructions on how to enter the password, refer to section 4.9.1,
Entering the Password.
Press the up and down buttons to display the “ADD NEW LUN”.
To assign the new drive as a new LUN, press the select button.
Press the select button to confirm. Press the cancel button to return to
the previous display.
The display shows the RAID level (n) of the new LUN. Press the up
and down buttons to select a RAID level.
Press the select button to confirm. Pressing the cancel button returns
the display to the previous menu without changing the configuration.
The display indicates that reallocation has started, and indicates the
LUN that is being reallocated, and the progress (in percent) of the
reallocation process.
