The drive formatter provided with Apple computers only recognizes drives supplied by Apple
Computer. In order to format the ArrayMasStor for use with a Macintosh, a hard disk formatter
from a third party is necessary. The Hard Disk Tool kit by FWB is recommended.

The ArrayMasStor does not support blind transfer. Please set the transfer mode to non-blind
transfer.
•
Each partition has a maximum capacity of 2GB on a system 7.0 and 4GB on a system 7.5. If the
ArrayMasStor’s capacity exceeds these limitations, the entire storage capacity should be divided
into several smaller partitions.
3.10 Connection to the UNIX Systems

The UNIX C/H/S mode must be set before the ArrayMasStor is connected to the following
operating systems:
Solaris (SPARC)
2.X
IRIX
5.X
•
The configuration file in Sun OS (Solaris 2.5.1/2.6) must be edited to use the LUN.
Example (To set two LUNs to the ArrayMasStor J Series at SCSI ID 0)

After editing the configuration file, re-boot the system with the boot option “-r”.
If the file is change correctly, the new LUN will appear on the ArrayMasStor’s display when
it is restarted.
