4.10 Adding Drive Units
Adding a drive unit can increase the capacity of an ArrayMasStor configured with one, two or three
units. If the ArrayMasStor is turned off, the new drive unit can be installed in normal system status.
The ArrayMasStor will enter ‘system halt mode’ when new drive units are added.
There are three ways to increase the capacity of ArrayMasStor.
1.
Adding Unit as Hot Spare Drive
2.
Adding Unit as Data Drive
3.
Adding Unit as New LUN
This menu appears when a drive is added into the ArrayMasStor.
This menu appears when a spare drive has not been assigned and only
one drive is added. To make the new drive a hot spare drive, press
the up or down button to display this menu and then press the select
button.
To assign the capacity of additional drives as new LUN, press the up
or down button to display this menu and then press the select button.
To initialize the original drives and add a new drive, press the up or
down button to display this menu and then press the select button.
This display is shown to remove a menu. You may remove ADDED
(1DRIVE) option by pressing the select button. However, ADDED
(1DRIVE) option will be shown again after restarting the
ArrayMasStor.
IMPORTANT !
Insert a new drive on the vacant slot below the last online drive
unit. Unless ‘INVALID DRIVE LOCATION’ message will be
displayed.
