Error Insertion
The error insertion function tests the ArrayMasStor by simulating the failure of one drive and causing
the ArrayMasStor to enter degraded mode. This function does not cause data loss and is not available
when one of the drives has failed.
From the change configuration menu, use the up or down button to
display ERROR INSERTION. Press the select button to access this
menu.
Use the up or down button to choose the drive number that will be
used in the simulated failure. Press the select button to confirm the
choice of drive. The hot spare drive cannot be used as the target
drive for the simulated failure.
The selected drive number will be displayed. Press the select button
to confirm.
The selected drive’s status changes from normal to fail.
OR
When hot spare drive is configured and Automatic Reconstruction
mode is on, data reconstruction on the spare drive will start
automatically.
