Configuring the QLA4050/4052 using Microsoft’s iSCSI Initiator Applet

Open the Control Panel and select
Administrative Tools > Computer Management
.

Select
Device Manager
, select
SCSI and RAID controllers
, right-click
QLogic iSCSI
Adapter
, and select
Properties
.

Select the HBA Information tab and enter the iSCSI name for the QLA4050/4052
adapter.

Select the TCP/IP settings tab and enter the IP address and other network
information.

When you have finished entering information, click
Apply Changes
and proceed
with “Connecting to a Logical Device (iSCSI Target) Using the MS Initiator” on
page 159.

To enter target information, refer to “Configuring the MS Initiator Connection to
the iSCSI Storage Appliance (Target Portal)” on page 158.
• In
iSCSI Initiator Properties > Targets
, log on to the iSCSI Storage Appliance
target.
• In the Advanced Settings dialog, set the Local adapter to
QLogic iSCSI
Adapter...
, then click
OK
.
Preparing Logical Devices for Windows Deployment
Create volumes on the iSCSI target using the Windows Disk Management Tool.
Refer to “Formatting a Logical Device Using the Windows Disk Management Tool”
on page 160 for instructions.
