Chapter 12: Maintenance
Maintenance
The FreeStyle Precision Pro meter requires little routine maintenance. During testing, the sample remains outside the meter,
which significantly reduces the possibility of contamination. Follow your facility’s procedures for maintenance and inspection of
the system.
This chapter describes the maintenance tasks for the meter.
• Cleaning the exterior surface of the meter.
• Replacing the strip port module.
• Replacing the batteries.
Cleaning the Exterior Surface
Cleaning the exterior surface of the FreeStyle Precision Pro meter daily is recommended. Follow your facility’s policies and
procedures for infection control, which may require more frequent cleaning.
The meter should be cleaned only with a damp cloth or a sponge and a mild detergent. Acceptable cleaning solutions include
mild soap water, bleach, alcohol and ammonia based cleaners. Recommended solutions are Dispatch
