IOLMaster
®
700
Procedure:
1. Measuring protective ground resistance
A maximum test voltage of 24V and a test current of 10A AC are recommended for measurement.
1)
Connect the device with its connecting cable to the power socket of the safety tester
(e.g. RIGEL 288).
2)
Firmly press the test probe against a screw head on the housing of the IOLMaster (see
3)
Start the measurement and note down the measured value.
4)
If the IOLMaster is powered via the power socket of the IT table, repeat the measurement for the
table. The same applies if the system is operated via a multiple socket. Include the multiple socket
into the measurement in this case.
5)
Note down the highest value measured.
Note
The limit value that must not be exceeded is 0.3 Ohms for devices with a power cord
and 0.5 Ohms for systems with a multiple socket.
2. Measuring the leakage current
We recommend using the differential current method, where the device is measured during
operation and both phase directions are taken into account. The IOLMaster connected and operated
via the safety tester.
1)
When using the RIGEL 288 tester, select IEC 62353, differential measurement and semi automatic
mode (to boot and shut down the computer manually during reversal of polarity).
2)
Please note the risk of a computer damage using safety testers with fully automatic reversal of
polarity!
3)
Switch on the instrument at the main switch.
4)
Firmly press the test probe against a screw head on the housing of the IOLMaster (see
) and start measurement. The tester automatically performs a reversal of polarity.
5)
Note down the highest value measured.
Note
The limit value of 0.5 mA must not be exceeded in any of the measurements.
3. Measuring the insulation resistance
Perform this measurement at 500V DC.
1)
Connect the power cord of the IOLMaster to the power socket of the safety tester.
2)
Switch on the instrument at the main switch.
3)
Start the measurement.
4)
Note down the measured value.
Note
The measured value must not be less than the limit value of 2 MOhm.
If the IOLMaster is operated via the power socket of the instrument table and/or via a multiple
socket, repeat the measurements accordingly.
