WSD
Web Services for Devices (WSD) is technology from Microsoft that provides a standard method for
discovering and using network connected devices. It is supported in Windows Vista or later and
Windows Server 2008 operating systems. WSD is one of several supported communication protocols.
Enabling WSD
1.
At your workstation, open the web browser, enter the
TCP/IP Address
of the machine in the
Address bar.
2.
Press
Enter
.
3.
Click on the
Properties
tab. If prompted, enter the Administrator’s
User ID
admin
and
Password
1111
, and click on
Login
.
4.
Click on the
Connectivity
link.
5.
Click on the
Protocols
link.
6.
Click on the
WSD
link.
7.
Next to WSD Protocol select
Enable
to enable the WSD print service.
Note
The default port number is 8018.
8.
Click Apply.
