System Adjustment for Large
Receiver Tanks
Read the
“Maintenance and Repair Safety” section prior to
performing any work on the system (beginning on Page 38).
Wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment and follow
all industry standard safety practices.
When air receiver tanks with a capacity of 25 USG or more are used with the
Gas Engine Driven 30 CFM Air Compressor, some users may find that the
system does not activate the discharge valve and the engine speed will not
decrease once system pressure (150 psi) is reached. This is due to the
interrelation between the unloader valve, discharge valve and the regulated
inlet valve.
A quick test to confirm this is to lightly tap the discharge valve after the
system pressure reaches 150 psi. If the discharge valve vents and the engine
rpm decreases, the inlet valve regulator will need to be adjusted.
Adjusting the Inlet regulator
Loosen the locknut.
Rotate the pressure adjusting bolt clockwise 1/8 of a rotation.
Tighten the locknut.
Test the system.
If required, repeat these steps, rotating the adjusting bolt no
more than 1/8 of a rotation at a time until the system unloads
and reduces engine speed.
