Remove the old heater element from the lid.
6.
Position the new heater element into the tank lid.
a)
The "curve" at the bottom of the heater element should point towards the rear of the tank.
7.
Secure the heater element to the tank lid with the two 11/16" brass nuts.
8.
Replace thermal cut-off switch onto the element and secure it with the clamp.
a)
The bulb of the thermal cut-off switch must be installed about one third of the way down onto
the heater element.
b)
The winding of the thermal cut-off switch must be below the water line when the tank is full.
9.
Replace the lid assembly.
a)
Refer to the "
Replacing the Water Tank Lid
" instructions in this manual.
10.
Connect the power wires to the heater element.
a)
Wire #11-2 connects to the right terminal.
b)
Wire from thermal cut-ff switch connects to the left terminal.
11.
Re-install the water tank access panel.
