Safety instructions and regulations
3.1 Safety
instructions
The heat pump must be installed by an approved techni-
cian, who will be responsible for adhering to the existing
standards and regulations. We accept no liability for any
damage caused by failure to observe these instructions.
Find out the transport and operating weights of the heat
pump from the Technical Data and take heed of them
during transportation and installation. Pay particular at-
tention to Chap. 4.2, "Requirements of the installation
site", before assembly.
d
Danger!
The coolant circuit is pressurised. Fur-
thermore, high temperatures can arise.
The appliance may only be opened and
serviced by Vaillant factory customer
service or by a qualified specialist tech-
nician. Work on the coolant circuit may
only be carried out by a qualified refrig-
eration engineer.
e
Danger!
Risk of electric shock!
Always switch off all power supplies be-
fore carrying out any electrical installa-
tion or servicing work. Make sure that
they are secured against inadvertent
switching on again.
a
Caution!
Risk of damage!
Do not add any antifreeze or corrosion
protection agents to the heating water,
as seals and other components can be
damaged as a result and this can lead to
water leaks.
You should soften the heating water if the water hard-
ness is above 3.0 mmol/l (21,05 °e). You can use the
Vaillant ion exchanger (Art. No. 990 349) for this pur-
pose. Observe the enclosed instructions for use.
a
Caution!
Condensate formation!
geoTHERM exclusive heat pump must
not be operated in connection with a
buffer cylinder. The condensed water
that emerges during the cooling opera-
tion can damage the buffer cylinder via
corrosion.
a
Caution!
Danger of falling below the dew point and
condensate formation!
·
All the pipes of the heating circuit
must be insulated leak-proof against
vapour
diffusion.
·
Radiator heatings are not suitable for
the operation with a Vaillant heat
pump geoTHERM exclusive.
a
Caution!
Damage of the cooling function by using
planar collector!
The insertion of a ground sensor is man-
datory during the operation of a Vaillant
heat pump with cooling function.
a
Caution!
Danger of falling below the dew point and
condensate formation!
The heating flow temperature must not
be set too low in the cooling mode. Ade-
quate cooling function is also guaranteed
in a flowtemperature of 20 °C.
h
Note!
Damage of the cooling function by closed
thermostatic radiator valves.
In the cooling mode, the thermostats
must be switched to "open" in order to
be able to guarantee an uninterrupted
circulation of annealed heating water in
the ground floor circuit.
