Danger!
Danger of scalding by withdrawing
water!
Make sure the discharge pipe ends at a
safe point inside or outside the building
(safe and visible), where there is no risk
of anyone coming in contact with hot
water.
A suitable point is, for example, under a fixed grating
above the trap of a trapped gully. Low discharge pipes,
for example up to 100 mm above external surfaces, such
as car and other parking spaces, grasslands etc., can be
used, provided they are secured by a wire fence or
something similar to prevent children from coming in
contact with the waste water, and as long as the system
is not visible. No valves or taps may be installed in the
discharge pipe.
• Make sure that the drain pipe from the tundish to the
drain has a steady gap of at least 1:200.
The discharge pipe from the pressure compensation
valve of Vaillant gas fired wall hung boiler can be con-
nected per T piece to the horizontal discharge pipe of
the domestic hot water cylinder.
4.7.5 High
discharge
point
The method illustrated in Fig. 4.6 is allowed, provided
no-one inside or outside the building is endangered by
the discharge point. The following points, for example,
should be taken into consideration for the decision on
whether a place is suitable as high discharge point:
– Possibility (considering the impact of wind), that
somebody is in the range of water that is flowing out
and if this is the case, whether the water is already
cooled down enough such that no danger is posed.
The thermal conductivity of the surface, the climatic
conditions and the location and alignment of the dis-
charge pipe may under certain circumstances have an
effect on the cooling down of the outflowing water
– The structure of the windows and other apertures.
– The likelihood that a baby carriage could be parked
beneath the drain.
– Resistance of the surface area against hot water.
– Possibility of ice formation if water is discharged on
the footpaths.

4.7.6 Drain
valve
The drain valve supplied with the geoTEHRM exclusive
has to be fitted in the cold water mains supply between
the geoTHERM exclusive and the cold water control
valves as low as possible.

We recommand to fit a hose pipe in the outlet of the
drain valve approximately 1 meter below the bottoom of
the geoTHERM exclusive (This can be acchieved by con-
necting suction hose to the outlet of the drain valve).
