WSII Operations Manual
For a two-site setup, do the following:
62.
Identify each unit by changing the Site ID in the Misc. Settings menu. (For
example, unit 1 site ID could be 1. Unit 2 should have the Site ID set to 2).
63.
For Unit 1 set the Rings to Answer in the Remote Reporting menu to 2.
64.
For Unit 2 set the Rings to Answer in the Remote Reporting menu to 4.
65.
This will make Unit 1 answer the phone first.
66.
For each unit set the Deaf Time to 60 seconds. What this does is make the unit
that answers the phone not answer the phone for 60 seconds after disconnecting
from a call.
Calling Process:
67.
Using HyperTerminal, call the site modem number.
68.
Unit 1 should answer in two rings. (Remember, unit 2 will not answer until it
reaches 4 rings)
69.
Perform the Remote reporting tasks for Unit 1, as you require.
70.
Hang up from unit 1.
71.
Within 60 seconds, call the site modem number. Unit 1 should be in its Deaf
Mode and not answer the phone. Unit 2 should answer the phone on the fourth
ring.
For a multiple site with more than two units, you will have to increase your deaf time for each
unit.

Adding an Alternate Modem Setup
If you are having problems connecting to your site, you may try the following. Unitec has seen
problems with some modems that have compression and error correcting (most modems
sold today) in connecting w/ Wash Select II units with Credit. Adding an alternate modem
configuration in windows that will be used just for your Wash Select II HyperTerminal
sessions should alleviate this.
Note:
You cannot add an alternate modem if you have a Win Modem. Win Modems may not
work with the Remote Reporting feature.
72.
From Windows you should exit all programs
73.
Click Start-> Settings->Control Panel
74.
Click on the modems icon
75.
You should see your currently installed modem listed in the modem properties
window.
76.
If you do not know the communications port that your current modem is using,
you may find it by clicking on that modem and selecting Properties.
77.
From the Modem
properties Click “Add”
78.
If prompted for the type you want to install (PCMCIA or Other), select other.
