Once the test begins, the bottom line of the main display window will show the letter “P” for
each passed loop back, and the letter “F” will appear for each failed test. Upon completion of
the test, the unit will display “Loop back test PASSED press the # key” or “Loop back test
FAILED press the # key” in the main display window.

POS/485 Loop back
Using this command, you can test the functionality of the 485 comm module of the Wash
Select II. You will not need any additional tools; the 485 comm module has a built in test
setting, activated by changing the position of a jumper. Follow the steps below to perform the
POS/485 loop back test.
1.
Remove the communications plug from the CPU board. (This is located at
connector J22 in the top left corner of the CPU board.)
2.
Move the jumper on the 485 comm module plug in board one pin to the left, to
place it in the test position. (The board is located at the top left of the CPU board
next to connector J22.)
3.
Using the toggle switch at the top of the CPU board, place the Wash Select II in
setup mode by moving the switch toward the back of the Wash Select II case.
(The CPU board is located on the inside right wall of the Wash Select II case.)
4.
Using the (3) key to scroll forward and the (1) key to scroll back, scroll through the
main menu until the "Diagnostics" option is displayed. Press the (*) key to enter.
5.
Use the (3) key to scroll until the "485/POS Loop Back" option is displayed. Press
the (*) key to enter.
6.
“Begin Test?” will be displayed. Press the (1) to answer yes.

Test Exp. Memory
If your unit is equipped with the “Enhanced Remote Reporting” option, or is used in Credit
Mode 5 (EDC-Sheetz), an expansion memory chip will be located at connector U57 on the
CPU board. To ensure that the expansion memory is working properly, follow the steps
below.
1.
Using the toggle switch at the top of the CPU board, place the Wash Select II in
setup mode by moving the switch toward the back of the Wash Select II case.
(The CPU board is located on the inside right wall of the Wash Select II case.)
2.
Using the (3) key to scroll forward and the (1) key to scroll back, scroll through the
main menu until the "Diagnostics" option is displayed. Press the (*) key to enter.
3.
Use the (3) key to scroll until the "Test EXP. Memory" option is displayed. Press
the (*) key to begin the test.
4.
“PASSED” or “FAILED” will appear in the main display window depending on the
outcome of the test.
