B.  REMOVING THE SUCTION CHECK VALVE   

 

Locate and loosen the 4 clamp bar screws and take off the 2 clamp bars.  Next, take 

off the suction inlet inspection cover and gasket (Figure 2).  Once this is completed, 

service, inspect and replace the suction check valve assembly through the suction 

inlet. 

 

Take out hardware attaching the suction check valve cover plate. 

 

Take off the check valve cover and gasket. 

 

Examine the check valve cover gasket for wear or damage.  Install a new gasket if 

necessary. 

 

Reaching through the suction inlet inspection port, press the suction check valve up 

so the two check valve blocks shift from a horizontal to a vertical position. 

 

Accurately position the suction check valve retaining blocks and pull the suction 

check valve down, removing it through the suction inlet inspection port. 

 

NOTE: 

Additional check valve disassembly is not needed.  It must be replaced as a 

complete unit since individual parts are not sold separately.
