Mail

Configuring initial e-mail settings

You must sign up for an e-mail account in order to use e-mail. If
you did not sign up for an account when you purchased your
mobile phone, contact your nearest au Shop or Customer
Service Center.

In the home screen, (E-mail)

This connects to the server so you can configure initial settings.
Please wait.

◎ When configuring initial settings, select "Japan" for the "Area Settings",

and configure settings in a location in Japan where signal reception is
good.Settings may not be configured correctly if you are in a location
where signal reception is poor or if you are moving.

◎ Depending on the time of day, it may take anywhere from 30 seconds

to three minutes to configure initial settings. Continue waiting as long
as the message "Configuring mail settings. Please wait." is displayed.

◎ For information about how to change your e-mail address, see

"Changing your e-mail address" (▶P.39).
