Follow the procedure used in Steps 1 and 2 to replace the retention clamp on the
right side.
Removing the CPU Module
For a 2.40 GHz CPU module

While gently pressing the heat sink of the CPU you want to remove against the CPU
socket, simultaneously move both the left and right heat sink lock levers in the
direction of the arrows, and unhook the levers from the claws to unlock the heat sink.

Remove the heat sink.

Raise the CPU lock levers of the CPU socket in which the CPU module you want to
move is installed.
Do not replace both left and right retention clamps at the same time. The plates
attached to the backside of the board for securing the retention clamps and the
screw holes on the retention clamps may be displaced. Always replace only one at
a time.
Contact your Toshiba service station or sales representative if you have problems
removing a heat sink. (Services will be provided for a fee.) Forcibly removing a
heat sink may damage the CPU or CPU socket.
