IP Configuration
This menu allows configuration of the unit’s IP address, subnet mask, gateway, and
DNS servers. It also allows you to select configuration via DHCP. The currently
assigned IP address is one of the first items displayed in this menu.
If “Use DHCP” is selected and the unit is unable to retrieve an IP address, the unit
will display a “self configured” IP address of 169.254.x.x. This is a perfectly valid IP
address, but it may indicate an issue with the unit’s network connection. Double-
check your Ethernet connection and verify that you are actually connected to the
network.
To assign an IP address manually, de-select “Use DHCP” and enter the IP, Mask,
Gateway, and DNS servers as appropriate. Click “Apply” to confirm the changes.
Note: You WILL need to reconnect to the unit once you make changes in
this menu. DOUBLE-CHECK your settings for typos before applying or you
might find yourself locked out of a remotely located unit with a LONG trip
to fix it (if in fact you can access the site at all).
