to the Allen screws and locknuts to adjust the seat depth.
2. Untie the upholstery cords, removing both the cords and the ball cord locks on both sides of the chair.
3. Loosen but do not remove the four Allen screws and locknuts (two directly above and two below the chair frame), using
the 7/16” Box End wrench and the 5/32” Allen wrench on the left and right chair frames.
4. In small increments, slide the bracket forward or backward along the frame rail, alternating from side to side until the
desired seat depth is achieved. Make sure the bracket is mounted in exactly the same location on the left and right chair
frames. See Figure 7-7.
Note:
Do not allow any portion of the bracket to extend passed the end of the frame rail.
Note:
The axle plate may need to be adjusted to achieve the desired seat depth and/or center of gravity. See “Adjusting
the Center of Gravity” on page 8-1. If your chair includes side guards or desk armrests and you need to
make adjustments due to the new seat depth, see “Adjusting” on page 6-2 or “Removing” and “Replacing” on page
5-2, respectively.
5. Securely tighten the four Allen screws loosened in Step 3 above on each side of your chair.
6. Retie the upholstery cords which were removed in Step 2 above. Slide the ball cord locks to adjust the tension of the
back flap.
7. Reposition the seat tubes in their saddles and return the footplates to the down position.
I
WARNING
Any changes to the seat depth will affect the stability (i.e. center of gravity) of the chair. Use extreme caution when using a
new seat depth as it may make the chair more prone to tip over. After adjusting the seat depth, you must consider whether
additional changes need to be made to compensate for the modified stability of the chair (e.g., changing the rear axle
position, backrest angle, rear seat height).
If you ignore this Warning, your chair may not perform properly, which in turn,
may cause you to fall, tip over or lose control of the chair and seriously injure yourself or others or damage the chair.
