Transportation: Preparing for Shipment

4. Empty the reagents.

5. Empty the paraffin.

6. Empty the wash bottle (see Section 3-3-2 Emptying water from the

wash bottle).

7. Turn the instrument off, as described in Section 3-1-2 Turning the

instrument off.

8. Unplug the unit.

9. Dispose of all liquids appropriately, according to the safety data

sheets and any applicable laboratory regulations.

10. Install transport handles as described in Section 2-3 Transporting

the STP420 to Its Site.

11. Pack the instrument

in the original packaging

, as this gives you the

best chance of transporting the instrument without damage.
