Hydraulic System
Replacing Hydraulic Fluid and Filters
(cont.)

Install the new external supply filters and
tighten rotating CW with filter wrench.

If changing fluid, and once fluid has finished
draining from the tank, close the tank drain
cock by rotating it CW.
This will close the valve
stopping the hydraulic
fluid from flowing.

With all of the fluid removed from the tank,
loosen and remove the mounting screws on
the top of the tank access panel using a ½ in.
wrench, and then remove the panel to access
the return filter assembly.

Remove the filter
assembly and spring from
the tank casement.

Holding the top or
middle of the filter
assembly, and using a
crescent
wrench,
rotate the bottom
retaining nut CCW to
loosen the top and bottom filter assembly
portions.
CAUTION : Make sure hydraulic fluid system has
had at least 30 minutes to cool prior to
maintenance.
NOTE: A 10 micron filter must be used when
replacing the hydraulic return line filter.
NOTE: Take care to
avoid dropping the
spring, located on the
top of the filter
assembly, back into
the tank. This spring
is not secured to the
filter holder, as it is designed to sit on the top of the
filter assembly and provide downward pressure
from the top of the tank to hold the filter in place.
