▪
Set the tractor PTO shaft protection aside, if exists, momentarily, and connect it to the power
takeoff. Lock it in position using the appropriate tools.
▪
Install back the PTO shaft protection, and make sure it
’s properly and securely fastened.
Do not work without the power takeoff or the power shaft guards in place as this
leads to the danger of entrapment.
Handle the transmission components with heavy duty work gloves while connecting
to the power takeoff.
6. Attach the electronic and hydraulic connections between the mixer to the tractor. (See Section 2.10.)
7. Remove the chocks and store them in their support or fully release the parking brake.
Driving with the parking brake on may produce breakdowns and tyre blow-outs on the
mixer due to overheating, which may in turn cause accidents.
8. Remove the control levers from their holder and place them inside the tractor cab.
9. Before starting to work with the mixer the operator should:
▪
Correctly adjust the position of the mixer controls
and the driver’s seat, so that the driving
position as well as the access to the mixer controls is comfortable and not forced.
Adjust the driver’s seat to the most ergonomic position for handling the tractor and the
mixer, by doing so possible back injury and pain can be prevented.
▪
Adjust the tractor rear view mirrors so that driving visibility as well as direct visibility to the
various mixer critical parts are optimal.
Correct adjustment of the rear view mirrors will enable the mixer driver to reduce
the possibility of accidents.
▪
It is recommended to have the support of a second person when adjusting the rear mirrors
For safety reasons all aforementioned operations should be carried out with both
the tractor and the mixer stopped.
Warning!
If the tractor is not equipped with rear mirrors, they will need to be installed. If the tractor has rear
mirrors which do not guarantee the correct visibility for driving nor the control over the different mechanisms
of the mixer, it will be necessary to install another set of rear view mirrors or modify the existing ones.
TATOMA declines all liability for possible damages caused to persons or property arising from inadequate
or non-existent rear-view mirrors.
